If you’re a rugged manly type, it can be hard to adjust to the current fashion trends.  Even in men’s fashion, everything seems so influenced by women’s fashion trends and it’s hard to go swing to the other side of the pendulum.  Some guys will just never be able to pull off the look of a scarf draped around the neck or another sweater thrown casually over the shoulders.

If this isn’t you, then do not fear that you will never be accepted as a fashionable guy.  Granted, it might not have been a title you aspired to have in the first place, but everyone needs to be presentable for social and business reasons.

The good news is that to be presentable, all you need to be is tidy and well groomed.  This means that the grunge look is out.  While there is something to be said to have a bit of scruff around the face, too much unkempt facial hair is always a turn off.  So, brush the hair that’s on top of your head as well as your beard if you have one.

As far as clothes are concerned, it’s good news that athletic wear is in this year for 2010.  So, your team jerseys are acceptable but make sure that they are still in good shape.  This means no faded away lettering.  Astonishingly enough, track suits are also in.  If you’re not skinny enough to fit into one, then go to the nearest department store and buy a pair of mens girdles.  While there are some guys who will balk at such a suggestion, girdles also come in men’s support undershirts which are very sporty looking.  As you can tell, the “in look” this year is a tidied athletic look.

So guys, you can be fashionable without compromising your masculinity.  And judging by the above tips, it’s not that hard to do either.
