4th Of July is just about there and I am sure all of you whether adults or children and even teachers want to have some American Flags Clip Art to use as part of crafts or as invitations or even to use them for any special fourth of July Invitations. American Flag stands for the Independence we have and putting that gif or illustration on anything that you create goes on to show that you are patriotic and love America.

History of the American Flag

The First American Flag was used on New Year’s Day when the Continental Army was trying to wrest control of Boston from the British Army. George Washington was the commander in chief of the forces and to symbolize victory he ordered that Grand Union flab be hoisted. This original flag had 13 red and white stripes.

The first reported flag was by Betsy Ross and this has the below circle of stars with the 13 alternating red and white stripes.

Current version of the flag has the 50 stars representing the 50 states of the Union and it has seven red and 6 white stripes. These stripes represent the original 13 colonies of the State.

How many stars does the American Flag have and the answer is 50. Now to what do they mean ? Each star represents the 50 states of the USA.

The colors red, white and blue were did not have any official meaning for the colors initially when the flag was used however now we have the meaning for each of the colors and these are

Blue – Color of the Chief

Red – Hardiness and Valor

White – Purity and Innocence
