It is quite simple to create an old man mask for Halloween and the effect can be fun and rewarding. A realistic old man mask can be made by using latex or face skin that can be purchased online or in a costume shop or any shop that sells Halloween items. Alternatively, there are a range of different masks, props and products that can be purchased to create the old man look.

It is relatively easy to create the appearance of an old man with some latex fake skin, face prosthetics or by purchasing silicone masks. A latex old man mask can be found in most shops that cater for Halloween. Some masks come complete with grey hair wigs, while some create the illusion that the person is bald.

Eye shadow or face paint is also needed to create bags under the eyes or to create wrinkles and shadow. When creating a realistic old man mask, start by applying the glue that comes with the latex. The instructions on the packet will advise the person applying the glue how much to use. Most of the glues are mixed with water and can be washed off with water and a glue remover that will come with the glue. Apply the glue onto the parts of the face that are intended to be covered with latex. Then stick the pieces of latex onto the face. The latex should stick easily to the face and harden with the glue. Applying face paint or eye shadow around the eyes and cheeks creates shadow and hollows that complement the look.

A prosthetic nose adds to the costume and is ideal to create a more realistic look. A grey wig or an old hat can be used to cover the top of the head. Fake dentures can also be used. A suit and a walking stick complete the ensemble. If this seems like too much work, a latex old man mask can be bought. There are a range of different and this cuts out the need to use latex and glue in some cases. However, most old men masks are now easy to apply and look very realistic. Most every kid loves face painting.  Kids like to pretend that they are animals or their favorite character.  Hiring a face painter for a party is a good idea, however, simple face painting can be done cheaply.  It is not that difficult to learn though it takes a little practice.  Soon, skills learn will attract lines of kids at parties.  They will all want to look like their idols or animals.

Instructions for Use

Firstly, Use a little brown makeup on a makeup sponge and coat the cheeks, and forehead and nose.  Be careful of getting makeup into the eyes, nose, or mouth.  The makeup is non toxic but may irate a child.  Use tan makeup on each eyelid.  Use white makeup between the eyes for highlight. Outline the eyes with black eyeliner.  Use a sponge and paint black on the tip of nose.  Use a brush to draw three or four lines on the cheeks to make whiskers.  Make a few small dots on the cheeks for added detail.  Apply brown makeup in wavy lines around the hairline to look like a mane for boys.  For girls, a lighter makeup can be used to highlight the features.
