The dessert is one such thing which is a must if you have the fourth July barbecue or the 4th of July Picnic or just a plain and simple Independence Day dinner. There are a number of recipes which be there ranging from special jigglers and special cake to ice cream cakes.

Here are my favorite recipes for the Fourth of July and if I have my will I generally will like to go for the patriotic Jello desserts or Jell-o recipes.

Patriotic Jello recipe in a special glass

 

Ingredients :

1 box of Jello – red in color

1 box of Jell-o – blue in color

Whipped topping or cream

Water

Special glass or transparent plastic cups

Cutters for different shapes or scoops

Steps or directions

1) Make the red gelatin as directed

2) Make the blue gelatin as directed

3) Always put the Jello you have made into the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours.

4) Once done you can then start with putting some whipped topping in a glass and then adding in some small rectangular( or for that matter star shapes if you have the cutter) cut pieces of red and blue jello. Next put a layer of white whipped topping and start alternating. This way you will have a nice mix of white, blue and red which will give the color of the American Flag and will be very patriotic.

Patriotic Cake dessert

Ingredients :

Red jello – 1 large box

Blue Jello – 1 Large box

Strawberries

Pound cake or lemon cake or walnut cake or even angel food cake

Cool Whip

Steps for making the dessert

Prepare and mix the gelatin mixture by adding hot water to the mix. Make sure that you do the mix separately for red and blue color.

After mixing put them in containers and then refrigerate them for three hours. After three hours remove the containers and then use your scoop to create small balls or red and blue jello. If you have star shaped cutter then it is better.

Now you can do two things

In a big dish you have small pieces of cake, then jello, then cool whip. Repeat this till the dish is almost full. Once it is done then you can very easily have the cool whip on the top of the whole arrangement. Garnish with strawberries and blue berries

The second method is that you can have the cake as such and then just have a nice frosting or cool whip on the top with. Once you have the cool whip then make sure that add the jello stars on the whip along with strawberries

Fourth of July Ice Cream cake Dessert

This is the most simple of the recipes and you can do a variety of things with this especially given the fact that you do not need to cook anything.

Here are the things that you need

Angel Cake or Chocolate cake or even a walnut cake

Vanilla Ice cream or even chocolate ice cream

Red jello stars or blue jello stars as explained in earlier recipes

Steps

Cut the cake into three layers or two layers.

Place the bottom layer on the plate.

Put a layer of ice cream and then immediately add another of cake and then ice cream.

Make sure that you are very near the freezer so that you can immediately put everything in the freezer.

Once the entire thing has frozen over then you can very easily make sure that you go for the cool whip.

This cool whip you can spread on the cake or you can make your own frosting to top the cake with.
