Best gift for son is a tough nut to crack. I have read and read a lot of blogs and asked my friends all about the gift that I should be giving out to my younger son. Games like Wii and Xbox he already has. So what is next for him on the birthday.. Clothes for a teenaged son is not a good thing that you can consider.

Then I heard my friend in the office talking about RC helicopters that he had built for his son when he was young.  I was interested. He gave me a references to a couple of sites and I checked those and was hooked. I never knew that these things are a big hobby in today’s world. At my younger age I was only interested in hiking and camping sort of things. Well that may well be the reason.

This site about RC helicopter has all sorts of information which can be helpful to you if you want to have some fun with the helicopters. More so if you want to have you son build up a hobby then this is good. Personally I do not like him sitting all day in front of computers and game boxes so this one will get him out.

RC helicopter means radio controlled helicopters. You would have seen these flying helicopters in toy shops. No those are strictly toys. The hobby helicopters are in the categories Micro helicopters. These are heavy and need to be used children aged above 8. Then there are other mini helicopters that are much more advanced and are used by even military agencies.

I must say that after two weeks now I see my son fully engaged on with this hobby website about helicopters and he is also learning to build a one on his own. There is nothing like father and son duo flying a helicopter. I wish I had that oen when I was growing but still many thanks to my office co-worker for those words of wisdom.. Helicopters!

The funny thing about being at 60 and having your birthday is that you are always in fear as to what people will think after that? Will it mean that I am actually over the hill or Am I now labeled as old or does 65 mean old that I am old and no longer a person eligible to work ?

These thoughts were going through my mind when I reached back home from work and as I entered inside my home my wife and kids started sing Happy birthday to you. It was a nice welcome and I was taken by surprise.

Well everything was fine except when I started reading the birthday card handed out to me by my younger son. Here it was which I had dreaded and it said “ Good news That you are now a wise old man” . Hmmm nice to be called old man but it was a shocker. Well coming from my young son I had nothing to do but to smile.

I received a large number of gifts from friends and family. I received quiet a sizeable number of books so probably that is an indication that I am getting wise apart from that it makes you wiser !

Like it or not the chances are that on each of the birthdays 30^th, 40^th, 50^th I have received gag gifts and this time I was expecting more than the usual number. I guess I was not wrong as I had three 60th birthday gag gifts. One was the T-shirt with walking stick picture on it. I received a personalized beer mug with a saying “Are You 2 old to drink?”

Funny 60th birthday gifts – Funny to some but a rude awakening to me that I am past 60 now. Like a walking cane. No I do not need it but ! but ! however I am supposed to enjoy right ?

Finally it was my wife’s birthday gift to me which was absolutely the most important one and that was a 60th birthday gift baskets full of everything golf. Golf learning book, Golf equipment and a golf club membership. In addition my son gifted both me and my wife a golf vacation. Wonderful and amazing.

I hate to say that I am over the hill however even if I am then I am look forward to my 70^th birthday gifts ! Who knows what gift ideas people will have up their sleeves.

Finally I gave well prepared 60^th birthday speech and also before I forget I liked the 60^th birthday toast which my elder son raised for me. That moved me to tears and that reminds you that family is what is yours after all.
