Light Up For Jack Daniels Zippos – A cool father’s day gift

March 4th, 2010 by Marsha No comments »

A great deal of Jack Daniels Zippo lighters have been made throughout the years. Some of these are commemorative items celebrating significant events in the Whiskey manufacturer’s years of production. Collectors from all across the globe have sought out these lighters to be taken as part of their personal anthology.

The name Jack Daniel’s is quite popular – it is a very rare occasion when you come across a person who has no idea what this is. Drinkers and non-drinkers alike can recognize this name wherever it may be in the world. This is practically why having one of these for your own is like holding a piece of world heritage in your hands.

There are much celebrated lighters that have been produced for this Tennessee Whiskey. In 2000, they produced a Jack Daniels Zippo lighter collector edition, which celebrated 150 years of whiskey production. It bears the face of the whiskey’s logo with the words Mr. Jack Daniel’s 150th birthday on the banner ribbon below it. It also indicates the years 1850 to 2000 right in the middle. This is practically one of the coolest things out there for this line. It is like a small party favor that you get after attending someone’s birthday celebration.

Over 60 more Jack Daniels Zippo lighters have bee produced and marketed. Some of them are still out on the markets while others are now becoming quite difficult to find. One example is the special edition lighter that was released in 2007 where only ten thousand pieces were produced. In the last two years, a limited edition blue light lighter was made. Dozens of different designs are out there, some people who have them does not even know how valuable it is. Some of the designs are simple yet elegant while others are intricately made to show precise detail.

If for some reason you are not a fan of Jack, don’t worry, there are plenty of Jim Beam Zippos out there also.

Christmas Toys Shopping Tips

February 18th, 2010 by Marsha No comments »

Every year many of us have the best intentions of getting all of our Christmas shopping done early so we don’t have to rush around at the last minute.  Then before you know it Christmas is right around the corner and you still don’t have the Christmas toys and other presents purchased yet.  Don’t panic, you can still get everything done in time.  The good news is that when you shop at the last minute you will still follow the same basic process you would follow if you did everything early.  You will just need to condense your activities within a shorter time frame.

The first thing you need to do is get organized.  Make a shopping list that contains every person you want to buy a Christmas present for.  Then for each person list several gift ideas next to their name.

If you are unsure what to get certain people on your list you can contact relatives and friends who know the person to get ideas.  Another thing you can do is search the internet for things like “hot Christmas toys.”  This will bring up websites that will provide information on some of the more popular toys and gifts.  This can be a great way to generate additional ideas for presents.

Once you have your list complete it’s time to do a little research on where the best deals are.  You can search online and also keep an eye on television commercials and ads that come in your mail.  Sometimes the exact same Christmas toy in one store will cost a lot less than another.

When you plan your Christmas shopping ahead of time, it makes it a lot easier to shop, especially when you don’t have a lot of time.  Another thing you can do is call ahead to see if the Christmas toys and other gifts you are planning to buy are in stock to save a wasted trip to the store.

Personally I like the plush toys or rather the soft plush toys a lot and if anyone is interested in  getting some more information on that then here is the best piece of information that you can get on plush toys.
